Neighborhood BBQ
This year it was my turn to be in charge of the neighborhood picnic. I wanted to do something different for food and decided to make Texas Style Beef Brisket BBQ. I made a small practice brisket the weekend before and then cooked 25 lbs. for the picnic. We had over fifty people attended and I received many generous commnets about how good it was. The receipe is my brother Will’s and is posted on our homeowners association site: www.dellwoodhoa.org.
New Truck
Well, its been eighteen years, and I’m sure you’re wondering when the day would come. I broke down and bought another truck. I also crossed over to the other side and bought a Chevy. Its a 2004 Silverado with only 64K miles on it. Its a 4.8 V8, auto, crank windows and vinyl floor.

Interesting story on the salvage operation of a car carrier containing $100 million worth of brand-new Mazdas. Mazda decided to destroy all the cars because they were at sea too long and they didn’t want to risk reliability problems. More interesting is the story of the guys that went onto the ship to save it. Click Here to go to the story.

2008 Robot Competition
There’s an article in the Hendersonville newspaper about the robot team. This year we made it to the quarter-finals, where we played five matches. Each match is best three out of three. After a tie, a win, a loss, and another win, we were lined up on the field to play the semi finals. Howerver a scoring error had occurred and after much analyzing it was decided that the other alliance won. After we got off the field, they then announced that after reviewing the video, we would play the match again. We then lost due to to penanties. It was a pretty exciting roller coaster ride. Click here to read the newpaper article.
Note: I say “we” but only the kids play. Hunter was the robot driver for the finals.
